Totalling 163 pages, the latest catalogue from Leo Workwear is an absolute beast of a publication!
Established for over 35 years, Leo Workwear has one of the most comprehensive ranges of high-quality PPE in the European market.
They approached us to design the latest iteration of their workwear catalogue, which we’ve produced for a number of years.
This publication truly illustrates how a seamless relationship can be created between marketing material and the finished product. The cover design cleverly mimics the look of many of Leo Workwear’s products, incorporating a reflective chevron pattern with a bold luminescent orange background.
Rolling out the design across all touchpoints
The challenge with catalogue design is that it is very easy to create page layouts that begin to look repetitive and standardised. Our mission was to ensure that each page was uniquely crafted, showcasing each product with pride. An addition we made was to introduce double page section dividers, highlighting new additions to each range as well as drawing attention to important standards to look out for. Additions such as these may seem small but are incredibly effective in creating an enjoyable user experience, which in turn leads to higher levels of sales.
Bringing clarity and heirarchy through typography
In any large document with lots of content, typographic execution plays a large part in determining how easy it is for a reader to navigate and find exactly what they are looking for. We employed a range of techniques to ensure clarity and legibility, from ensuring a large minimum type size to using colour highlighting to enable easy referencing.
Bold and saturated colour coding
Whilst the existing Leo Workwear had always used subtle colour-coding to differentiate product lines, we chose to amp this up and be bold in this iteration, using vibrant and saturated colour to clearly mark sections, and a neon colour palette that took inspiration from the high-vis products.
Print production at its finest
Finally, we worked closely with our trusted print partner to ensure that colour reproduction on the printed catalogue was every bit as vibrant and saturated as it appeared on our screens. We painstakingly colour-matched and proofed the inks used on the catalogue cover ensuring a closest possible match with Leo’s high-vis products and introduced a raised spot gloss to the Leo Workwear logo, creating a beautifully tactile experience.
