In the early 2000s Sharp’s was a small Cornish Brewery with an ambition to become a regional and national force.

Amongst a stable of small brands it was felt that Doom Bar had real potential. The task was to develop a brand style that would spearhead the growth of the brewery. Quantock deliberately avoided an elaborate style, unlike other contemporary brands, and made the presentation understated and honest, with strong emphasis on the Doom Bar name and Cornish provenance.

Doom Bar is now a premium national brand with a loyal following across the UK. It is a text book success story of how to create a strong brand from scratch, and the design we developed was a pivotal element in its long-term success.

“We enjoyed this great collaboration with Sharp’s marketing team and delivered a powerful iconic identity for this multi-award-winning amber ale. The design we created continues to deliver outstanding results,and the Doom Bar brand was cited as the main reason Molson Coors spent £20 million on their takeover of Sharp's Brewery in 2011. Doom Bar is now the largest cask ale brand in Molson Coors' portfolio."
